When we talk about mutual support, about friendship that keeps the community united, we can't help but mention the Samopomich Credit Union. Because Samopomich is not just an institution. It is a caring neighbor, a reliable friend, and (let's face it) a savior in those moments when the parish thinks: "Who will support us this time?"
This year, during the celebration of the Holy Trinity, St. Joseph the Betrothed Parish in Chicago once again experienced the generous support of the Samopomich Credit Union. Representatives of the union presented a check in support of the parish, continuing a long-standing tradition of cooperation and mutual assistance.
Support for the Church of St. Joseph the Betrothed by Samopomich is not a one-time gesture, it is a long-term partnership woven from trust, love for traditions, and joint work. They helped in need, supported projects, and rejoiced with us on every holiday.
Among the representatives of Samopomich, it is worth noting Andriy Durbak, who actively cooperates with the parish, facilitating the implementation of many initiatives. His contribution is part of the collective work of the entire Samopomich team, which works tirelessly for the benefit of the Ukrainian community in Chicago.
And the personification of this friendship and cooperation is Andriy Durbak - a man whom the parish knows not only as a representative of Self-Help, but as a person-event. Yes, that's right! Because where Durbak is - there will be order, and a joke, and a box of candles, and technical assistance, and.... His work is quiet, but fundamental. He does not just "work in the parish", he is used in the parish, like kvass to good borscht - without him the taste is no longer the same.! (expect a big interview with Andriy Durbak very soon)
Father Mykola Buryadnyk expressed his sincere gratitude to the entire Samopomich Credit Union for their continued support and dedication to the cause. He noted that such cooperation is an example of true Christian brotherhood and mutual respect.
This support is evidence that together we can preserve and multiply our traditions, faith, and culture, passing them on to future generations.
