Sisterhood of the Intercession of the Holy Mother of God at the parish of St. Joseph received a letter of thanks from Fr. Ivan Koltun, parish priest of Stradch pilgrimage site in Lviv region.

The sisters deserve such attention thanks to their active help to the displaced people, in particular, the provision of clothes and necessary things for the children and displaced persons who are cared for by Fr. Ivan

Working tirelessly, the sisters continue to support orphans, the elderly, displaced persons and the military, although they do not want to talk about their good deeds. They believe that Christians are called to help their neighbor. "Sometimes we want to be Marys, dressed in embroidered dresses, and 'sit at the feet of Jesus,' but usually we are tireless Marthas in aprons, fussing in the kitchen or putting together packages," jokes the head of the sisterhood, Ms. Galina Maslova.

"Charity is one of the forms of Christian service," notes priest Fr. Mykola, - the sincere participation of a Christian in works of mercy for the glory of God corresponds to two main commandments: about love for God and neighbor (Lk. 10:27). Charity can take various forms: material assistance, support of neighbors through volunteering, help in the construction and restoration of temples, but it is important that it comes from Love and from a pure heart."

Father Ivan Koltun added: "It is not important what a person does, but how he does it." He believes that "all sacrifices and alms will not replace love for one's neighbor if it is not in the heart; therefore, when performing acts of mercy, one must always remember to do it with love."

"He who showed mercy to his neighbors will be remembered by the Lord in His Kingdom. Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy," says Christ (Matthew 5:7).

Therefore, we thank you, dear sisters, for your tireless and hard work, for your sincere heart and steadfast faith. You will receive your most important certificate, God willing, from the hands of Christ!

With God to new goals!
