Funeral - What is mourning?

What is grief?

The act of mourning is a natural mourning, a sad and emotional expression of pain due to the loss of a loved one. It is not a passive emotion that can last for a short period of time, after which joy comes again. Rather, it is a very personal thing; and everyone experiences grief in their own way. The grieving process is as unique as a person's fingerprints. Therefore, it is useless to say to a person in grief, "I know how you feel." In fact, we think we know because we are based on our own experience of a similar situation. The mission of the church is to provide spiritual and psychological support to those who have lost a dear person. If you need psychological help, please call the parish office at 773-625-4806 to make an appointment with our parish fathers.
