"The defender stood on the barricades during the Revolution of Dignity. In 2014, he deliberately became a volunteer for the defense of his native land, served in the "Donbas" battalion. In the battle with the Moscow occupier, he was seriously wounded in Popasnaya."
For a long time, the defender underwent treatment both in Ukraine and abroad.
In 2016, Oleg went to Spain for treatment, where they were able to stop the infection.
In November 2018, we brought Oleg to the USA to put him on his feet under the care of Father Mykola Buryadnyk. Oleg was treated and rehabilitated for two years in Chicago at the University of Illinois Hospital.
At the time of the start of the full-scale invasion, he was in Chicago for treatment. And already on March 1, he returned to Ukraine to become a reliable shoulder of support for military personnel. Oleg engaged in powerful volunteer activities.
The man underwent a large number of operations, was confined to a wheelchair, but he supported Ukraine and his fellow citizens until the end.
About 2 months ago, Oleg Ivakhniuk was hospitalized again due to an infection that periodically manifested itself after the injury. He was in serious condition. After 10 years of fighting for his life, the Defender, patriot and volunteer died.
Oleg would have turned 28 on July 39.
Thanks to everyone who helped Oleg all these years in his difficult recovery path.
