About the Sacrament of Baptism

Baptism is the foundation of the entire Christian life and the door to spiritual life.

In Baptism, through washing with natural water and invoking the name of God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, a person is freed from sin, reborn to a new life, clothed in Christ, and becomes a member of the Church, which is His Body.

Only after receiving Baptism does a person become capable of receiving other Holy Sacraments.

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” Matt. 28:19

“Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.” John 3:5

“For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ.” Gal. 3:27

“He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.” Mark 16:16

About the Sacrament of Matrimony

Marriage is a Sacrament in which the bride and groom, with a voluntary promise of fidelity to each other, before a priest and the Church, are blessed for conjugal life in the image of the union of Christ with the Church. In this Sacrament, the grace of pure unanimity is implored for them for the blessed birth and Christian upbringing of children.

“Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.” Gen. 2:24

“So they are no longer two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate.” Matt. 19:6

“Let wives submit to their husbands, as to the Lord.” Eph. 5:22

“Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the Church and gave himself up for her.” Eph. 5:25
